Madrid in Lockdown

As Spain goes into lockdown I will be updating you with what's going on. As it stands, there have been  7,798 known cases in Spain and 292 fatalities. Today (Lockdown day 1, 15.03.2020) has been the worst day with 1,407 new cases and 96 deaths. It's likely that many more people have the virus and that the number of known cases will continue increasing in the next days, especially as Spain have not been testing everyone presenting with symptoms.

Above is a video I took while returning from a friend's house in Malasania in the centre of Madrid. The government had just declared a State of emergency and I shouldn't have been in the street. Normally that street is bustling at that time - Midnight on a Saturday.
